Finished At Last!

I got a charm pack of quilting fabric for Christmas from my husband several years ago.  Charm packs are super cute, but it can be pretty difficult to figure out what to make with such tiny squares of fabric.  Therefore, it sat around for a few years.  Two years ago I bought the book One-Yard Wonders, by Rebecca Yaker and Patricia Hoskins.

I saw the Bird Mobile, and I thought the bird pattern would be a great way to use my charm squares.  I quickly sewed up twelve little birds.  I didn't really want to make a mobile though, and so my birds have been sitting in a drawer for the past two years.

Two days ago my husband moved our dresser, and found this beaded chain that had fallen behind it.  We used to have the chain hanging above our living room window, but had taken it down when I made new curtains.  I had completely forgotten about its existence.  When I saw it again, I immediately thought that it would be the perfect thing to hang my birds from.  I made short beaded chains to attach the birds, and voila!  I finally have a finished project.
